We're back for a second season, and this time we brought receipts. Seven filmmakers. Seven different futures. All of them saying what needs to be said when the world's not ready to listen.

Tickets are now available for the highly anticipated return of Minorities in Film's short film showcase, Make News, Make Noise Season 2! This season's theme is "VISIONS OF THE FUTURE," highlighting disabled and BIPOC filmmaking pioneers in the genre of science fiction. Whether you're joining us in New York City, Atlanta, Los Angeles or streaming from home, this is your chance to experience our favorite collection of diverse indie sci-fi shorts of the year- because sci-fi was never about spaceships. It was always about who gets to imagine what comes next.

Film at Lincoln Center Academy Programs

2024 Artists Academy Participants

Film at Lincoln Center is a nonprofit organization that celebrates cinema year-round through film programs, new releases, and festivals—including the world-renowned New York Film Festival.

As Community Partners with FLC, we’re to share that applications are now open for the 2025 FLC Academy Programs—two immersive initiatives that support emerging voices in filmmaking and film criticism. Applications will be accepted through June 20, 2025, at 11:59 PM ET.

Taking place during the New York Film Festival, the FLC Artists Academy and FLC Critics Academy provide early-career filmmakers and writers with real-world experience, access to industry events, and mentorship from seasoned professionals. These programs are designed to equip participants with the tools and relationships needed to build meaningful, sustainable careers in film.

As part of our ongoing commitment to increasing representation in the film space, we place a strong emphasis on mentorship, talent development, and authentic storytelling shaped by a broad spectrum of voices and lived experiences
