MicroBudget Pod x Minorities in Film partner to release a bonus season

We’re excited to announce the launch of a brand new collaboration with MicroBudget Pod on their Bonus Season!

This February, we invite you to tune in to the new bonus season of MicroBudget Indie Filmmakers Pod (MBFP), a podcast that’s dedicated to guiding emerging and aspiring filmmakers through the entire micro-budget production process from script to screen.This season, each episode will have a corresponding digital filmmaker guide, a guest interview, and will cover the hottest topics in indie film (like the evolution of Web3, Filming in an Airbnb, Contracts, Distribution Hacks, etc).

Since its release at the height of the pandemic, in May 2020, MBFP has seen significant growth due to its cult following on Twitter. The podcast received 27,719 plays across 51 countries including the US, UK, Canada, Australia and Lithuania. In 2022 the podcast was in the top 10% most shared globally on Spotify in 2022 had a 77% follower increase and 63% increase in streams.

Zanah Thirus and Brittany Franklin are both mission driven filmmakers and advocates who have been heavily involved in leading programming that demystifies film production. They both will bring years of production experience, along with special guests for audiences to learn from this season; Chicago based, Zanah Thirus is a long time creative producer, who recently pivoted to creative strategy at Highdive Advertising. Brittany Franklin is a Hard of Hearing narrative and commercial producer currently at Johannes Leonardo.
